Heading: Lync Attendee is prompted to use for Online Meetings even though Lync client installed.

Symptom:

Users who has Lync client installed try joining Online Meeting, Lync attendee client is being prompted to use for the Meeting instead of using existing Lync Client.

Cause:

Default internet browser is not set to Internet Explorer which is causing this while joining the Lync meeting.


Resolution:

Select one of the browsers as a default. Lync supports the following browsers:

  • Windows Internet Explorer 9 Internet browser
  • Windows Internet Explorer 8 Internet browser
  • Windows Internet Explorer 7 Internet browser
  • Windows Internet Explorer 6 Internet browser
  • Mozilla Firefox web browse

 

In order to change the default browser to Internet Explorer, Go to "Start - Control Panel - Internet Options - Programs - Default Web browser". Please do send an email to uc@ocspedia.com in case you observe the mentioned problem differently, or should have any follow up on this article.
