SMS Plugin for OCS 2007 by Geomant (22-Oct-08)

Send SMS through Microsoft Office Communicator:

Isn’t it great to have this feature in Microsoft Office Communicator (MOC 2007)? Certainly… yes! Recently I stumbled over an application which can help you having this feature in MOC. The application is provided by Geomant. It provides an SMS plug-in for OCS 2007. Geomant's SMS for Microsoft Communicator enables SMS Text message to be sent directly from Microsoft Communicator.

SMS Plug-In Components

  • Server application: The server application interfaces with OCS 2007 and initiates outbound SMS text messages.

  • Client application: The client application allows SMS text messages to be initiated from the contact list or during a conversation.

  • Geomant SMS Services: Geomant's SMS service provides an on-line 'pay as you go' service for delivering outbound SMS text messages anywhere in the world. There is no requirement to invest in a separate SMS gateway or integrate OCS with such a gateway. Messages can be delivered so they appear to come from the initiator's mobile phone, allowing replies to be sent direct to that mobile phone. The above information has been taken from the website of Geomant.
