Installation of OCS 2007 R2 Group Chat Server |
Follow the following steps to install the group chat
server. (we assume that AD and SIP Domain is
OCSPedia.com)
Install a
certificate in Personal store of Group Chat Server
Install a
certificate on the Group Chat server. the certificate
subject name should be the FQDN of the Group Chat
server.
Install the Group Chat
Server Role.
a. On
Group Chat Server, Navigate to the setup file of Group
Chat Server.
b. On
the Group Chat Server prompt to install the Microsoft
Unified Communications Managed API 2.0 Core Redist
64-bit, click Yes.
c. On
the Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007, Group
Chat Setup Wizard Welcome page, click
Next.
d. On
the License Agreement page, click
I accept the terms in
the license agreement, and then click
Next.
e.
On the
Customer Information page, click
Next.
f.
On the
Install location page, click
Next.
g. On
the Select the features you want to install page, notice
the information provided stating
The Chat Server and
Compliance Server cannot be installed together.
Click the drop-down list box to the left of
Compliance Server,
and then click Entire
feature will be unavailable and then click
Next.
h.
On the
Confirm Installation page, click
Next.
i. On
the Server Configuration wizard (which may appear behind
the initial installation wizard), on the
Installed Services
page, verify Lookup
Server,
Channel Server and
Web Service
are Installed
and then click Next.
j. On
the Group Chat Database page, in the
Server\instance
field, type SQL Server
name (Which holds the Group chat database) and in
the Database field type
OCSgcdb and
then click Next.
k.
On the
Database Settings page, click
Next.
l. On
the Super Users page, in the
Username
field, type
GCadmin@ OCSPedia.com and then click
Add.
m.
In the
Username
field, type ocschat@
OCSPedia.com click
Add
n.
In the
Username
field, type
Administrator@ OCSPedia.com click
Add and then
click Next.
o.
On the
Communications Server page, in the
Host field,
type FQDN of the Group
Chat Server.
p.
Under MTLS
Certificate, click
Browse.
q.
Select the
certificate you
installed earlier, click
OK and then
click Next.
r.
On the
Lookup Server page, in the
SIP URI
field, type ocschat@
OCSPedia.com.
s.
In the
Username
field type OCSPedia\ocschat
t. In
the Password
and Confirm Password
fields, type
Password1 leave the default
Pool Communication Port
number and then click
Next.
u.
On the
Channel Server page, in the
Username
field type OCSPedia\GCchannel
v. In
the Password
and Confirm Password
fields, type
Password1 leave the default
Pool Communication Port
and Service Listening
Port numbers, and then click
Next.
w.
On the
Compliance Settings page, in
Compliance Repository
Settings field, type
\\GC_Server\GCfiles
(You created this shared file
here...)
x.
Under
General, leave the
Turn on Compliance Server logging setting
unchecked and then click
Next.
y.
On the Web
Service page, in the
Web Service Settings field, type
\\GC_Server\GCfiles
and then click Next.
z.
On the
Installation Summary page, click
Finish.

On the
Server Config Tool prompt, click
OK.

On the next
Server Config Tool prompt, click
OK.

On the
Installation Complete page, click
Close.
Install the Office
Communication Server 2007 R2 Group Chat Administration
Tool.
From the
setup folder, click group chat admin tools setup to
install the Group Chat administrative tools.
Verifying web site settings in IIS
a. On
the Group chat server,
open Internet Information Services
(IIS) Manager.
b. In
the console tree, expand
Web Sites => Default Web Site,
right-click
MGCWebService, and then click
Properties.
c. Click
the Directory
Security tab, under
Authentication and
access control, click
Edit.
d. In
the Authentication
Methods dialog box, verify that the
Enable anonymous access
check box is checked and then click
OK.
e.
Click
OK again and
then close the IIS management console.
Locating Group Chat management options
With
the installation of Group Chat Server and the
Administrative Tools there are two main tools available,
the Admin Tool and the Config Tool.

Location of
the Admin Tool:
Start
=> All Programs => Microsoft Office
Communications Server 2007 R2 =>
Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2, Group
Chat Administration Tool
b.
Location of
the Config Tool:
Start
=> Administrative Tools =>
