Why do I need an AV Edge Server? (24-Oct-08)

It provides A/V conference and point to point calls with the external users. It uses RTP/RTCP & Simple Traversal of UDP through NAT (STUN) as a protocol. The NATED IP Address on the external interface of the A/V Edge server is not supported. The external IP address should have the public IP Address configured on it.

Other protocols involved in AV edge functionalities are STUN, TURN and ICE.

See what is ICE and why do we need an routable IP Address on the interfaces of the AV Edge server.
